A Place for Everything and Everything in it’s place
This is what we started with. Basically we are 4 people and 2 dogs trying to move from our house to a 900 square foot boat. On this boat we need enough clothing to cover a wide range of temperatures that we expect to encounter on the water for the next 3 months, as well as electronics, the home school supplies, musical instruments, medications, first aid supplies, boat repair supplies, tool kits, batteries, sewing kit, glue, tape, kitchen dishes, pots and pans, utensils, snorkel gear, beach gear, sunscreen, movies, books, towels…well you get the idea. Trying to figure out where we are going to put all this stuff is quite a feat, and remembering where we put it is even harder. It takes time to move on to a boat, and the in between is NOT pretty.
But we are making progress.
I am getting to have great fun with the label maker–one of my favorite tools. Every surface is still covered with things to be sorted, organized and put away, but we are getting there. Maybe in a few more days we will be finally moved on to the boat.
Looks awesome! How fun!
Looking good! Label makers are the best!
Learning to live with only the bare essentials sounds kind of freeing …. But mayb a little scary too?
It is definitely a learning process…we are still in the learning part. Some stuff we broke down too much–we’ve figured out that 1 pair of blue jeans per person just won’t cut it. What are you supposed to wear on laundry day? On the other hand, we have no need for this many hand towels and cups. That’s being put in the return to the house pile. Fortunately we are planning another trip home to drop stuff off and pick up things we realized we need after all.
My love to you 6 lovely sailors!!!!
I did the same thing when I took two of my four kiddos across the country in a motorhome..well..not EXACTLY the same but close..all the way to homeschool supplies as well! Enjoy, enjoy, enjoy!!!
