Settling in at Halifax Marina in Daytona

IMG_2821

We have spent the last month settling in, gradually getting things done on the boat. The fiberglass has been repaired from our fender bender. We are now on diesel mechanic time, which is even less predictable and scheduled than Mexican or Island time. He will be fixing the strap on the water heater as well as an oil leak in the port engine. In the meantime we are settling in to a routine: kids doing school trying to wrap up the school year, cleaning and waxing the boat, replacing the safety line netting, organizing the tools, even working an occasional shift to supplement our cruising kitty.

We had an open house for our friends who were able to stop by for a tour of the boat. Aislin even decorated with streamers and balloons.

For those of you who were not able to attend the open house, if you still want to come and visit just let me know–it may not be as decorated but you are welcome to stop by. Like I said, we are on diesel mechanic time, so we might be here another week or another 3 weeks, you never know. We plan to start heading south once he is done.

I would love to come by and visit with the kids if you’re up for it.

  3. Hi there. I see you anchored in Cocoa. I’m in the blue boat just inshore of you.
You have a nice boat. I wish you luck and fair winds in your journey!

    • Thank you Kevin. We enjoyed that anchorage on way up and back. We enjoyed that anchorage and trips to the city. Hopefully our paths will cross again.
