It is time to take the boat to Brunswick,GA, for Hurricane Season (until November 1st). This time we get a special treat– our “third child”, Maxwell, is coming along. He is actually the child of our very close friends who live in Boston, but he has grown up with our kids and we love him like our own. So as a special treat for all of us his parents flew him down to Orlando so we could take him along on this trip and let him experience “boat life”.
We brought him to the boat, which he explored with excitement, including finally getting to see “his room” (I apologize to all our prior guests, you were borrowing Max’s cabin). We went over safety rules, responsibilities. I think when listed “swab the deck” as one of his responsibilities he did a back flip in excitement. He would be a Real Swabbie!!
Kim got the kids unpacked and settled in while I ran to the grocery store for provisions. When I returned the kids did an assembly line to unload the dock cart and store the groceries. Pretty routine for the rest of us, but as each item was unpacked Max would exclaim over it.
“Pears! I love pears!”
“Raspberries! My favorite!”
“All right! A cantaloupe! Wait, Ms. Amy, is this a cantaloupe or honeydew?”
“A honeydew”, I answered.
“Even better!” (complete with fist pump).
Now that is how one should unload groceries. This week is going to be awesome!
Just what I needed to brighten up my Thursday afternoon! TY & miss all of you!
Yep, we love that grandson of yours!
