We are the Kelley family and in March of 2015 we took off on an adventure on our 43 foot Privilege catamaran named Wonderstruck.
Kim is our Captain. She has been on boats and water her whole life. Sailing is so much a part of her she tends to sway back and forth even when standing on land. She earned a USCG Captain’s license, and even spent a few years teaching coastal cruising on a catamaran. This is a dream come true to share her lifetime love of sailing with her family.
Amy is the First Mate/ Deck hand/ Galley cook extraordinaire. Unfortunately she gets seasick on a porch swing unless she is the one rocking it, so excuse the occasionally green face. But she loves the water, the sky, the sandy beach, a cool breeze, a good laugh, and time with her family and friends.
Benjamin and Aislin are our children. Although technically they are mammals, they are actually more amphibian as they have grown up in the water swimming, snorkeling, boogie boarding and surfing.
Ben is now 15, was 12 when we started this journey. He enjoys small boat sailing (Opti/ Laser/ 420), running (cross country, 5k), swiminhanging with friends, and flying his drone.
Aislin is 13 now, 10 when we started our journey. She enjoys writing stories and poetry, riding horses, fishing, swimming, and is the resident pet whisperer–fish, chickens, fostering kittens, and of course her fur baby, Skipper.
And no trip is complete without our furry friends. We started this journey with our dogs Brooke and Sally, then after Sally passed we had Brooke and Skipper, and now we have only Skipper. He’s a miniature poodle, spoiled rotten, and loving boat life.
