After months of work in the St John’s Boatyard we finally got to launch Wonderstruck. Not only was the fiberglass repaired (obviously), but we now have a new engine, new batteries, new inverter, new water maker, new autopilot, multiple new pumps, wiring, etc and she is ready for sea trials.
Check out the launch. We cheered as she was lowered onto the water and then floated on her own hulls. We spent the next several days moving our stuff back on and it is starting to look like home again.
The new engine started right up, the initial tests went well, so we did our first sea trial. We took the boat about 10 miles down the ICW to the Beach Marina in Jacksonville. Everything went smoothly, no problems with the boat. And although it was cold and pouring rain off and on, it was so good to back on the boat and on the water. The Beach Marina is protected from ICW boat traffic and currents but still within driving distance to the boatyard in Jacksonville. There are still some minor loose ends to wrap up before moving to Daytona but we hope to be able to do that this month.
Yea!!! Happy for you all 😊😘😊
